Sponsorship policy

Where we stand today

We don't publish sponsored content, run display ads, or take paid guest posts. Nothing on the site is paid for by a vendor. If that changes, it will be announced on the About page and this policy will be updated first.

What we will never sell

• Links in our articles, or changes to links that are already there.
• Guest posts or articles written by a vendor and published as ours.
• Reviews, ratings, or a place in a comparison or "best of" list.
• Advance review or approval of an article, or the right to remove a fair criticism.

If we ever accept a sponsor

• Labelled up front. A sponsored article opens with "Sponsored by" and the sponsor's name, before any other content, on the page and in our feeds.
• A topic, not a conclusion. A sponsor can pay for us to cover a subject. They don't see the article before it's published and can't change what it says, including about their own product.
• Same standards. Sponsored work goes through the same source checks, evidence labels and corrections process as everything else (see our methodology).
• No hidden extras. No undisclosed links, tracking, or follow-up articles come with a sponsorship.

Partners

Research sources, communities and tools we work with without payment, such as for data or expert interviews, are named in the articles they contributed to. A partnership never buys coverage.
