Despite its name, AMD64 does not mean software runs only on AMD chips. It names the 64-bit x86 instruction-set architecture used by many Intel and AMD servers, desktops and virtual machines.
Packages built for AMD64 generally differ from packages built for ARM64. Container registries can publish multiple architecture-specific images under one visible tag, with the platform selecting the appropriate variant when it starts the workload.
Security fixes must reach the artifact that actually runs. A corrected PHP package or container image for AMD64 does not prove that another architecture's build is patched, and an image built for the wrong platform may not run without emulation.
Include architecture in software inventories and patch records. Check the full vendor package identifier or image digest, confirm that the deployed machine selected the intended AMD64 build and verify the active runtime after rollout.
